A large portion of your wedding planning will be finding the vendors you want to work with for your day. With all the experience that a vetted wedding planner has, they’ll have a wide variety of vendors to recommend to best fit your vision.
Vendors you hire must have a synergy together since they’ll all be on the same team to make sure you have the best experience possible. A planner knows which vendors will mesh well for your day and give you that seamless experience since most of them have already worked together.
I once heard a phrase a while ago that always stuck with me throughout my career… “The reason a couple’s day went smooth is because their planner put out all the fires before they even knew.” I realized throughout the years how true this statement is. We naturally problem-solve situations so that the couple doesn’t have any more stress on their day.
A wedding planner will put out all those fires for you. Anyone who’s had one for their wedding will tell you how valuable they are for this reason alone. Your only job on your wedding day is to just enjoy it. You shouldn’t have to stress, worry if something’s running late, or make a call on a rained-out ceremony. The planner will handle all those things for you.
Couples often spend the year leading up to their wedding worrying about their day and stressing over every detail. You still have work and day-to-day issues to handle, so get that time back by hiring a planner to take the load off. They can schedule the calls, talk to your vendors, and set up your vision while you’re out having cocktails, spending time with family, or on the couch watching Netflix.
Most likely, it’s your first time planning a wedding, so you have very little, or no experience at all. Friends or family members often try pulling you in certain directions or plugging ideas into your head that aren’t necessarily what you want as much as what they prefer. I hear it happen all the time.
A planner is a professional with tons of experience and planned hundreds or thousands of weddings. They know how to work WITH you to make YOUR vision come to life, not someone else’s.
The last thing you want to do on your wedding day is worry about every little detail. You want to enjoy your day as much as possible, and with a planner handling everything on the back end, you can do that! The difference on a bride or groom’s face when they have a planner vs. not is noticeable. You don’t want to look back on your photos or video and see that worry and stress on your face. As mentioned before, the planner puts out all those fires so you can fully enjoy the day you’ve been looking forward to all year.
Most of us aren’t accountants or used to dealing with budgets for major events like this. Putting a few dollars aside for a new TV or purse is a lot different than a wedding. A wedding planner knows which vendors to work with within your budget and can even negotiate them for you. It can be a lot of work figuring out where to put your money and what matters to you most for your wedding, so the planner can use their expertise to help manage that for you and take a load off.
The number 1 reason to hire a wedding planner is because your life will be a lot less stressful! If you noticed a theme throughout this article, is that it all leads to less stress and allows you to enjoy your lives and day to the fullest.
Bonus: If a wedding planner is out of your budget, I highly recommend considering a Day-Of or Month-of Coordinator. They will help you on your day and the busy weeks leading up to it. I’ve worked with many day-of coordinators and they are a lifesaver! Most planners offer this service as well, so be sure to ask when pricing around for planners.
