Everyone knows that you need a photographer for your wedding, but what about a wedding videographer? However, video has an additional element that you don’t get with photography, and that’s audio.
As time passes and years go by, you most likely won’t be able to remember word for word what certain important people close to you said, or even yourself. If you put months or years into planning something you want to say to someone you love and care about, wouldn’t you want to remember that moment exactly the way it went down forever?
From my 12 years of experience filming weddings, here are the top things I’ve learned from actual couples who got married and were so grateful they chose me to produce their wedding video!
Reciting your vows to your significant other is probably the most important part of your day. A photo can capture the scene very well, but it won’t capture the emotions in your voice, the laughs from the crowd, or the sniffles from your spouse trying to hold back tears. You’ll never be able to recreate that moment again. Having a wedding videographer to capture it will make sure you never forget this part of your day.
When you think back on your wedding day years after, will you really remember what your best man or maid of honor said and how the emotions in their voice sounded? Most people who give toasts and speeches at weddings don’t even keep what they say. So, even if you wanted to reference it years later you wouldn’t even be able to.
Even though everyone should have a photographer at their wedding, this is something that doesn’t translate through photos. There’s something special about being able to watch your toasts in real time and hearing exactly what made you shed a tear or what made you burst out laughing. We want you to be able to remember every little bit of your day exactly how it unfolded!
Your first dance is important to you both for many reasons. Mostly, you just get to show yourselves off for the first time as a married couple. Dance movements teach synchronization which is a guideline for a good marriage. Because of that, it’s getting more and more common these days for couples to have choreographed first dances, and what’s the point in having a choreographed dance that you practiced for months without ever being able to watch it again?
Through photos, you can’t see the movement between you both, let alone hear yourselves dancing to your special song that you chose to dance to. It’s really amazing to see all these elements come together through your wedding video!
The first time you see each other on your wedding day is a very special moment. Sometimes it doesn’t happen until the ceremony, but most of the time, it’ll be during your first look. These are more common now for a bunch of reasons. You can organize time throughout your day way more efficiently so you can get all your portraits, family photos, and bridal party photos out of the way for you to enjoy and mingle with guests during the short time at cocktail hour. A first look also gives you a more intimate way to see each other for the first time and you can be more comfortable expressing yourselves.
Times like this are just one thing that makes your wedding day unique. Everyone is different and every couple has a different way of reacting to each other. Sometimes you might not even know how you will react. Certain expressions come off well in photos, but you won’t be able to remember the first thing you said when you saw your husband or wife, or in this particular case, how nice the music sounded!
If you hire a band, they’re the lifeline of your entire reception. You hired them for a reason, to kick ass and get all of your guests on the dance floor. According to recent studies, wedding bands are the third most expensive vendor that a couple books for their day. So why wouldn’t you want a video to help you remember them?
They cover all of your entrances, special dance songs (first dance, parent dances, etc.), the song you cut your cake to, everything! They’re performing all night and sometimes even jump on the dance floor to party WITH you. You pretty much hired your own personal concert, so why wouldn’t you want to remember the show they put on for you and your guests? It’s always a great time with a wedding band, and this video featuring the AMAZING Frank Simmons Band will prove it!
These are things actual married couples regret not getting video for from their day. A couple shouldn’t have to choose between a photographer and a videographer for their wedding, we capture your day in two completely different ways. We work well side by side with each other and make your day more fun for you and your wedding party.
At Cinema-Roll Films, we work hard to make sure you’re able to relive these moments exactly the way you experienced them the first time around. All of our wedding collections include these special moments, so you’ll never regret a thing on your wedding day!
